RESOLUTION TO AWARD BID TO EARTH BUILDERS, INC. FOR
PROJECT TO ABANDON DRAIN VALVES AT LAKE DIVERSION
WHEREAS, the City of Wichita Falls and Wichita County Water
Improvement District #2 jointly own the Lake Kemp/Diversion
Reservoir System and associated irrigation canals;
WHEREAS, two large valves in the spillway of the Lake
Diversion Dam are defective and are to be abandoned in place by
filling the valve vault and conduit pipes with concrete;
WHEREAS, the City will pay 55 percent of the cost of the
project and the District will pay 45 percent;
WHEREAS, the Council has examined bids received for the
project and has determined the lowest responsive bidder to be
Earth Builders, Inc of Fort Worth, Texas in the amount of $47, 635
for which the City share will be $26, 199 . 25 .
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT:
The project to abandon drain valves at the Lake Diversion
Dam is hereby awarded to Earth Builders, Inc . in the amount of
47, 635 for which the City' s share of the cost will be
26, 199 . 25 . The City Manager is authorized to sign the
appropriate contract documents in conjunction with the General
Manager of Wichita County Water Improvement District #2 to engage
Earth Builders, Inc . for the work.
