RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER
TO ENTER INTO A CONTRACT WITH BUNDY,
YOUNG, SIMS AND POTTER FOR ARCHITECTURAL
SERVICES FOR THE LIBRARY PROJECT
WHEREAS, the City Council has accepted the final report of
the Library Relocation Task Force which recommends renovation of
the current Activities Center as the main public library, and
WHEREAS, the City Council has created a City Council
Committee to review the final design of the new library and
methods for financing, and
WHEREAS, it is necessary for design work to be conducted in
order to more accurately estimate costs and project scope.
WHEREAS, the architectural firm of Bundy, Young, Sims and
Potter was the associate architect for the library site analysis
work that was conducted in 1990, and
WHEREAS, renovation of the Activities Center is essentially
a continuation of the work that was conducted in 1990, and
WHEREAS, the City Council Committee recommends that Bundy,
Young, Sims and Potter be retained for final design of the new
library, and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT:
The City Manager is hereby authorized to enter into a
contract with Bundy, Young, Sims and Potter for architectural
design services for the renovation of the Activities Center as
the new main public library.
