A RESOLUTION SUPPORTING NORTH TEXAS VISIONS WICHITA FALLS
IN THEIR APPLICATION FOR FUNDING THE SCOTT STREET
ENHANCEMENT PROJECT AS AUTHORIZED UNDER THE ISTEA;
AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE AN AGREEMENT TO
ENHANCE THE INTERMODAL TRANSPORTATION SYSTEM; FINDING
AND DETERMINING THAT THE MEETING AT WHICH THIS ORDINANCE
WAS PASSED WAS OPEN TO THE PUBLIC AS REQUIRED BY LAW.
WHEREAS, The North Texas Visions Wichita Falls is applying for an Enhancement project as
authorized under the ISTEA of 1991; and
WHEREAS, The City Council has determined that such a project will greatly enhance the driving
experience of the local and out-of-town visiting motorist along U.S. Bus. Hwy. 287 which functions as a
corridor for such traffic; and
WHEREAS, The North Texas Vision Wichita Falls had previously applied for but were denied
funding under a similar project, where the match required for that project is still made available for the
construction of this project.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WICHITA
FALLS, TEXAS, THAT:
SECTION 1. The City Council of Wichita Falls request that all due consideration be given to the
Enhancement proposed along U.S. Bus. Hwy. 287 project by the Texas Department of Transportation.
SECTION 2. The City Manager is authorized to execute an agreement providing a twenty (20)
percent match in the amount of$58,000 where the provision of such match is as required by the ISTEA
of 1991 for Enhancement projects.
SECTION 3. It is hereby officially found and determined that the meeting at which this ordinance
was passed was open to the public as required by law.
