Ord 052-87 5/19/1987 ORDINANCE NO. s�S-t7 ORDINANCE REPEALING THE EXEMPTION FOR TAXES ON THE RECEIPTS FROM TELECOMMUNICATIONS SERVICES SOLD WITHIN THE CITY OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS. WHEREAS, the City of Wichita Falls has, by a majority vote of the qualified voters of said City, adopted a local sales and use tax for the benefit of such City in accordance with the Local Sales and Use Tax Act, Article 1066c, Revised Civil Statutes of Texas , and the City Council desires to repeal the application of the exemption provided by Section 4B of such Act for telecom- munications services sold within the City. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT: SECTION 1 . There is hereby repealed the application of the exemption provided by Section 4B of Article 1066c, the Local Sales and Use Tax Act, for telecommunications services sold within the City of Wichita Falls. SECTION 2 . This ordinance, and the vote of the City Council adopting it, shall be entered into the minutes of the City, and the City Clerk is directed to forward a copy of this ordinance to the Comptroller of the State of Texas by United States registered or certified mail. SECTION 3. In accordance with Section 47 of the Wichita Falls Charter, this ordinance shall go into effect thirty (30) days after its passage; on receipt of the notification by the Comptroller, one whole calendar quarter shall elapse before the repeal of the application of the exemption becomes effective; the imposition of the tax shall take effect on the first day of the calendar quarter next succeeding the elapsed quarter.
