Res 005-97 1/7/1997RESOLUTION NO. RESOLUTION TO APPROVE CHANGE ORDER #1 FOR THE SEWER LIFT STATIONS 40 AND 41 REHABILITATION PROJECT, ACCEPT THE PROJECT AS COMPLETE AND AUTHORIZE A FINAL PAYMENT TO THE CONTRACTOR WHEREAS, the City of Wichita Falls has a contract with Jalyn Construction, Inc. for the construction of the project to rehabilitate Sewer Lift Stations 40 and 41, said contract having an original estimated amount of $222,840; WHEREAS, during the process of the work certain changes were necessary, resulting in a change order in the amount of $5,233 which the Council has examined, increasing the estimated contract price to $228,073; WHEREAS, the actual amount of work completed by the contractor, including the change order, is $230,688; WHEREAS, the City previously has paid the contractor $229,945.90, leaving an amount due of $9,742.10; WHEREAS, Staff has inspected the work and has found that it meets all plans and specifications; and, WHEREAS, Staff has recommended Council approve the stated change order, accept the project as complete, and authorize the City Manager to make a final payment to the contractor. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT: The project to rehabilitate and replace Sewer Lift Stations 40 and 41 is hereby accepted as complete. Change order #1 to the project is approved, and the City Manager is authorized to make a final payment in the amount $9,742.10 to the contractor.
