RESOLUTION APPROVING PARTICIPATION IN THE
TEXAS DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION'S (TXDOT)
CITY PRIDE SIGN PROGRAM
WHEREAS, the Texas Department of Transportation (TXDOT) has
recently adopted rules governing the display of City Pride signs,
which establish a safe and consistent placement for such signs
without interfering with official traffic control devices; and
WHEREAS, participation in the City Pride Sign Program is at
the option of the municipality; and
WHEREAS, TXDOT has requested that Wichita Falls be one of
the first cities in the state to implement the new program; and
WHEREAS, the Wichita Falls Clean Country Commission has
reviewed this program with TXDOT officials and recommends that
the City participate.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT:
The City of Wichita Falls commits to participate in the
Texas Department of Transportation's City Pride Sign Program.
