RESOLUTION AMENDING LABORATORY TESTING FEES FOR
TESTS PERFORMED ON WATER SAMPLES SUBMITTED TO THE
HEALTH DEPARTMENT LABORATORY.
WHEREAS, The Health Department Laboratory performs tests to
determine the bacteriological quality of drinking water on water
samples submitted to said laboratory; and,
WHEREAS, The fees for said testing have remained the same
and unchanged since August 1990; and,
WHEREAS, The current fees no longer cover the costs of
providing this service; and,
WHEREAS, A new procedure is being offered which will meet
the requirements of the Environmental Protection Agency's (EPA)
Information Coliform Rule (ICR); and,
WHEREAS, The City Council feels that the circumstances in
this request are warranted.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF WICHITA
FALLS, TEXAS, THAT:
The fees charged by the Health Department Laboratory for
tests on drinking water samples to determine bacteriological
quality be increased as follows: Total Coliform test fees shall
increase from $8.00 top $10.00 per sample; Fecal Coliform tests
fees shall increase from $8.00 to $15.00 per sample; and a fees
is established for the new EPA ICR Coliform test at $15.00 per
sample; effective October 1, 1997.
