A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WICHITA FALLS
ADOPTING CITY COUNCIL GOALS FOR FISCAL YEAR 1997 -98.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WICHITA
FALLS, TEXAS THAT:
SECTION 1. The following twelve (12) goals are hereby adopted by the City Council to
be pursued during Fiscal Year 1997 -98.
Goal I: Communication and Public Relations with Citizens
Our goal is to strive for excellence in keeping all citizens informed of all
possible activities of the city and to respond to citizens' inquiries and
needs in a professional, courteous, and friendly manner.
Goal II : Infrastructure
Our goal is to ensure that our infrastructure supports the total development
requirements and needs of the city
Goal III: Human Relations
Our goal is the inclusion of all people in the work, progress and benefits of
the city.
Goal IV: Transportation
Our goal is to provide a diverse and economical system that ensures safe,
secure and reliable means of transportation for its citizens and goods
Goal V: Intergovernmental cooperation agreements and relationships
Our goal is to establish an environment where the efficiency and
performance of local and regional governments can be enhanced.
Goal VI: Finance and Budget
Our goal is to assure that all resources and assets of city government are
efficiently directed toward achieving the maximum effect.
Goal VII: City Sta ff
Our goal is to provide a work environment in which each employee can
achieve maximum personal and professional potential while achieving the
goals of the city.
Goal VIII: City Council
Our goal for ourselves is to adopt a big - picture approach, developing goals
which will guide Wichita Falls into the next century.
Goal IX: Ecology and Natural Resources
Our goal is to conserve the city's environment through prudent
stewardship of the city's natural resources.
Goal X: —Housing
Our goal is to provide an opportunity for all citizens to have quality
housing in a safe and pleasant environment.
Goal XI: Economic Development
Our goal is to generate job opportunities through the creation of an
environment that will encourage capital investment in new and existing
businesses.
Goal XII: Personal and Public Safety
Our goal is to make Wichita Falls a safe place for all citizens.
SECTION 2: The City Manager shall provide semi - annual progress reports to the City
Council.
