RESOLUTION NO. % " 97
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS; AMENDING RESOLUTION 151 -96 AT
SECTION 6.4, "OTHER BUSINESS," CONCERNING RULES OF
PROCEDURE FOR THE CITY COUNCIL; FINDING AND
DETERMINING THAT THE MEETING AT WHICH THIS
RESOLUTION WAS PASSED WAS OPEN TO THE PUBLIC AS
REQUIRED BY LAW.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT:
SECTION 1. Resolution 151 -96, amending Resolution 19 -87, is hereby
amended at Section 6.4 entitled "Other Business," so that such section shall read as
follows:
"Sec. 6.4 Other Business:
6.4.1 Presentation by Citizens:
(a) Agenda Items: Any person who seeks— aetiein- €vem *tee r ounei
a-a4 wishes to address the Council on the Regular Agenda shall advise the City
Manager's office of that fact and the specific subject matter to which he /she desires
to speak, no later than 10:00 o'clock a.m. the Tuesday prior to the Council meeting
at which he /she wishes the designated subject to be considered.
Subject to Subsection (c) hereof, the City Manager shall
determine whether or not a requested subject matter shall be placed on the
agenda for consideration.
(b) Non - Agenda Items: Any person who wishes to address the
Council without having made this preparation may appear under the "Other
Business" part of the agenda. This rule does not apply to anyone appearing at a
public hearing in response to an official notice or to persons who wish to address the
Council on a matter which appears on the Regular Agenda. All persons shall state
their name and address before addressing the Council. No one shall be allowed to
speak more than once on any one subject until every person wishing to speak has
spoken.
(c) The Mayor or any combination of three Council members
may place an item on the agenda for action by notifying the City Manager
in a timely fashion."
SECTION 2. It is hereby found and determined that the meeting at
which this resolution was passed was open to the public as required by law.
