RESOLUTION TO ACCEPT THE SOUTHWEST LIFT STATION
AND FORCE MAIN PROJECT AND AUTHORIZE FINAL
PAYMENT TO JALYN CONSTRUCTION COMPANY
WHEREAS, the City of Wichita Falls entered a unit price contract with Jalyn
Construction Company with the total cost of $1,254,651.00;
WHEREAS, two change orders approved during the work increased the contract price
to $1,316,134.00;
WHEREAS, the actual work was completed at a total cost of $1,280,920.50 of which
$1,199,429.63 has been previously paid to the contractor, leaving an amount due of
WHEREAS, liquidated damages of $17,500 are to be deducted from the final payment,
leaving a balance to be paid to the Contractor of $63,990.87;
WHEREAS, the City staff has inspected the work and found it to be acceptable; and
WHEREAS, the Texas Water Development Board must approve the project before final
payment is made.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT:
The Southwest Lift Station and Force Main Project is hereby accepted, and the City
Manager is authorized to make final payment to the contractor, subject to approval of the
Texas Water Development Board.
