A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WICHITA FALLS
AUTHORIZING THE WICHITA FALLS POLICE DEPARTMENT TO
PARTICIPATE IN A JOINT OPERATION WITH THE DEPARTMENT OF
TREASURY, BUREAU OF ALCOHOL, TOBACCO AND FIREARMS IN
SUPPRESSING THE USE OF FIREARMS IN THE CITY OF WICHITA FALLS.
WHEREAS, the City of Wichita Falls Police Department has received an allocation of
$34,000 from the Department of Treasury, Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms; and
WHEREAS, this money is to be used to reimburse overtime for swom officers of the
Wichita Falls Police Department; and,
WHEREAS, these officers will be involved in the suppression of criminal activity
involving firearms in the City of Wichita Falls, and,
WHEREAS, this suppression of firearms use will go a long way in making the streets
safer for the citizens of Wichita Falls,;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS:
That authorization is granted for the Wichita Falls Police Department to participate in a
joint operation, known as "Operation Firestorm," with the Department of Treasury, Bureau of
Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms, in the suppression of firearms in the City of Wichita Falls.
