RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE SANITATION DEPARTMENT TO
APPLY TO NORTEX FOR A SOLID WASTE GRANT TO CONTINUE
THE BACKYARD COMPOSTING PROGRAM AND TO EXPAND THE
CURBSIDE ORGANICS
WHEREAS, the Texas Natural Resource Conservation Commission desires to
reduce the amount of municipal solid waste deposited in landfills; and,
WHEREAS, the City of Wichita Falls desires to apply for grant money to provide
for Backyard Composting Education and Curbside Organics Recycling Collection.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT:
The City Council hereby authorizes the Sanitation Department to apply to Nortex
Regional Planning Commission for two grants to provide for Composting Education and
Curbside Recycling.
