' 1 —C7 RESOLUTION EXPRESSING THE INTENT TO PLACE A PROPOSAL TO ADOPT A PROPERTY TAX RATE EXCEEDING THE NOTICE AND PUBLIC HEARING LIMIT ON A FUTURE CITY COUNCIL AGENDA AND SCHEDULING A PUBLIC HEARING ON THE PROPOSAL WHEREAS, State law prescribes specific procedures that local government's must follow when setting property tax rates for the ensuring year, and WHEREAS, the City Council is considering adopting a tax rate that exceeds the effective tax rate in excess of three percent. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT: The City of Wichita Falls hereby expresses its intent to place an item on the September 2, 1997 City Council agenda adopting a property tax rate of 51.2838 cents per $100 of assessed value, and schedules a public hearing to discuss this consideration for August 20, 1997.
