RESOLUTION TO APPROVE WATER PURCHASE CONTRACT WITH
RED RIVER AUTHORITY OF TEXAS
WHEREAS, the City and Red River Authority have Water Purchase Contracts
whereby the City provides raw water to the Authority for treatment and distribution to
residents at Lake Arrowhead and Arrowhead Ranch Estates;
WHEREAS, Authority proposes to expand the existing water treatment plant
located at Lake Arrowhead to provide water to users in the Lake Arrowhead area,
Arrowhead Ranch Estates area, and the Arrowhead State Park, and to combine all
three Water Purchase Contracts into a single contract;
WHEREAS, the State of Texas has agreed with Red River Authority to this
arrangement;
WHEREAS, City owns a raw water supply system with sufficient capacity to
serve the present City consumers and to provide the proposed contracted quantity to
Red River Authority; and,
WHEREAS, the Council has examined a proposed Water Purchase Contract for
the purposes stated.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT:
The Water Purchase Contract with Red River Authority of Texas is hereby
approved, and the City Manager is authorize to execute the same for the City.
