Res 135-97 9/2/1997RESOLUTION NO. \ 77 Jam- q RESOLUTION TO APPROVE AMENDMENT TO ENGINEERING CONTRACT FOR LAKE ARROWHEAD RAW WATER LINE ENGINEERING STUDY WHEREAS, the City of Wichita Falls and the engineering firm of Corlett, Probst & Boyd, Inc. on February 18, 1997 entered into a contract whereby the firm would provide engineering services related to a project known as the Lake Arrowhead Raw Water Line Engineering Study; WHEREAS, the scope of the engineering study included the raw water transmission line, but did not include work on analyzing the pump station at Lake Arrowhead; WHEREAS, in the course of the analysis of the pipeline, and as a result of various problems experienced with the pump station during the 1997 high demand season, it is believed necessary to expand the scope of the original study to include the pump station; WHEREAS, Staff has recommended the expanded scope of the study and the Council believes the expanded study is necessary to insure the reliability of a supply of water to the city; and, WHEREAS, the Council has examined a proposed amendment to the February 18, 1997 contract to incorporate the additional engineering services required for the expanded study. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT: The amendment to the February 18, 1997 contract between the City and the engineering firm of Corlett, Probst & Boyd, Inc. is hereby approved at a cost of $41,500 bringing the total study cost to $79,000. The City Manager is authorized to execute the amendment for the City. PASSED AND APPROVED this the 2nd day of September, 1997. �Wlo ATTEST: City Clerk
