A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WICHITA
FALLS, TEXAS APPROVING FUNDING OUT OF THE 4A SALES TAX
REVENUES IN THE AMOUNT OF $41,888 TO VERNON REGIONAL
JUNIOR COLLEGE FOR EQUIPMENT FOR THE METALLURGY LAB
AND THE WELDING LAB TO ENHANCE TRAINING OPPORTUNITIES
FOR LOCAL INDUSTRIES; FINDING AND DETERMINING THAT THE
MEETING AT WHICH THIS RESOLUTION WAS PASSED WAS OPEN
TO THE PUBLIC AS REQUIRED BY LAW.
WHEREAS, on the 10th day of October, 1997, the 4A Sales Tax Corporation
met and recommended to the City Council the funding of a cash incentive in the amount
of $41,888 payable from the 4A sales tax receipts to Vernon Regional Junior College,
such amount to be used to fund equipment for a metallurgy lab and a welding lab.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS:
SECTION 1. That the above preambles and recitals are found to be true and
correct and made a part hereof for all purposes.
SECTION 2. That the City Council hereby approves the funding of $41,888 to be
made payable to Vernon Regional Junior College, said amount to be paid out of the 4A
sales tax revenues and utilized for the funding of equipment for a metallurgy lab and a
welding lab.
SECTION 3. That it is hereby found and determined that the meeting at which
this resolution was passed was open to the public as required by law.
