RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO ADVERTISE
FOR PROPOSALS FOR THE SALE OR LEASE OF THE KEMP PUBLIC
LIBRARY BUILDING, FINDING THAT SAID BUILDING IS NOT
NECESSARY FOR MUNICIPAL PURPOSES; FINDING AND
DETERMINING THAT THE MEETING AT WHICH THIS RESOLUTION
WAS PASSED WAS OPEN TO THE PUBLIC AS REQUIRED BY
LAW.
WHEREAS, the City of Wichita Falls will soon be utilizing a new public library
facility; and,
WHEREAS, the former Kemp Public Library building is not needed for
municipal purposes; and,
WHEREAS, the City Council deems it to be in the public interest to authorize
the City Manager to advertise for proposals for the sale or lease of said building, as
authorized by law.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS:
SECTION 1 The City Council hereby finds and determines that the Kemp
Public Library building is not needed for municipal purposes, and that the same is
surplus real property.
SECTION 2. That the City Manager be and is hereby authorized to advertise
for proposals for the sale or lease of the Kemp Public Library building.
SECTION 3. That the City Council hereby reserves unto itself the right to
determine the most appropriate use and terms of the sale or lease upon receipt of
the proposals hereby authorized.
SECTION 4. It is hereby officially found and determined that the meeting at
which this resolution was passed was open to the public as required by law.
