Ordinance No. 85-87
AN ORDINANCE ESTABLISHING A DEVELOPMENT FEE SCHEDULE AND
REPEALING ALL FEES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Wichita Falls, Texas,
deems that development fees shall be established to recover at least
part of the actual service cost, and;
WHEREAS, the City Council desires to provide for a single
development fee schedule.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT:
SECTION 1. This ordinance shall be called the Development Fee
Ordinance.
SECTION 2. The following development fees are hereby established,
and shall be paid at the time of application:

1. BUILDING PERMITS
A. New building or addition to an existing building
( 1) Residential use - single family, $ .06 x total sq. ft.
duplex, garage, storage, carport, of building.
other outbuildings
( 2) Residential use - multi-family

hotels, dormitories (excluding of building.

B. Repairs, alteration, remodel or finish

I. Flammable or combustible liquid

2. ELECTRICAL PERMITS
A. New building construction, including
new additions to existing buildings
(1) Residential use - single family,
duplex, multi-family up to three $ .0175 x total sq. ft.

(2) Commercial use - motels, hotels,
business, retail sales, services, $ . 02 x total sq. ft.
all other commercial of bldg or addition.
( 3 ) Storage buildings Wiring for a storage building shall
be charged a fee based upon the
square foot rate or by fixture.
B. Alteration, repair, addition to, or
replacement of electrical installa-
tions in or on an existing building or

C. Minimum fee for A. & B. above The minimum fee for each
electrical permit shall be
$10 . 00 if the actual value
of work is $250.00 or less.
If the actual value of the
work is greater than $250. 00
the minimum fee shall be

B. Minimum fee for A. above The minimum fee for each plumbing
permit shall be $10. 00 if the
actual value of work is $250.00 or
less. If the actual value of the
work is greater than $250.00 the
minimum fee shall be $25.00.
C. Other fees
Reinspection fee $15 .00
Excavation permit $25 .00
General inspection $15. 00
Lawn sprinkler system permit $25.00

4. HEATING, VENTILATION, AIR CONDITIONING EQUIPMENT PERMITS
A. Residential use - single family, duplex
( 1) New installation $25.00
( 2) Repair, alteration, or addition
to existing system $25 .00
B. Commercial use - all other
( 1) New installation $25.00 + $3 per
$1,000 valuation
of work.
( 2) Repair, alteration, or addition to $25.00 + $3 per
existing system $1,000 valuation
of work.
C. Boilers - all $25.00
D. Reinspection $15.00
E. General or temporary operation insp. $15. 00
F. In all buildings except one and two family dwellings
using in self-contained air conditioning
units less than two
(2) tons, the fee charged shall be that for the total
tonage of all units combined.
Minimum fee for any permit $25. 00
5. PLATTING (Final and Preliminary)
Up to 1 acre $50 .00
More than 1 acre $50. 00 + $10 per acre or
fraction thereof.
Notification plat $50.00 in addition to
above.
Plat vacation $50.00
- The above fees shall not apply to the following
types of plats:
(i) Plats submitted by the City of Wichita Falls
or any governmental or public educational
agency.
(ii) Plats submitted to correct minor drafting
errors in a recorded plat.
(iii) Plats filed for the purpose of dedicating
land to the City of Wichita Falls in which
no other subdivision of land is shown.

( iv) Replats occasioned by governmental action.
- Fees for revised preliminary plats shall apply
to the area changed from the previous submission.

Ordinance adopted by the City Council, which may from time to time,
adjust and revise the fees established, without amending this
ordinance. "
