RESOLUTION TO APPROVE CONTRACT WITH ENGINEERING FIRM
OF BIGGS & MATHEWS, INC. FOR 6T" STREET TRUNK MAIN
EXPANSION
WHEREAS, the City of Wichita Falls is required by an EPA Administrative Order
to accomplish certain remedial work in the sanitary sewer collection system;
WHEREAS, the work has been defined by an EPA - approved sanitary sewer
evaluation study;
WHEREAS, the work includes expansion projects to increase the capacity of the
sanitary sewer collection system, and one of the projects is the 6th Street Trunk Main
Expansion Project;
WHEREAS, the staff has recommended we proceed with the 6`h Street Trunk
Main Expansion Project ahead of the EPA schedule in order to coordinate the work in
this project with the construction of the IH -44 Overhead Expressway Project; and,
WHEREAS, the Council desires to engage the firm of Biggs & Mathews, Inc. to
provide the engineering services for the stated project.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT:
The proposed contract with the engineering firm of Biggs & Mathews, Inc. for
engineering services related to the 6th Street Trunk Main Expansion is hereby approved
with a maximum amount of $281,875 for the base engineering services. The City
Manager is authorized to sign the contract for the City.
