RESOLUTION TO APPROVE ENGINEERING CONTRACT WITH EMD,
INC. FOR LAKE KICKAPOO BOOSTER STATION MOTOR CONTROL
CENTERS PROJECT
WHEREAS, the City water supply requires a number of pumping stations, all of
which must be maintained in a highly reliable state in order to assure water service to
our citizens;
WHEREAS, the motor control centers at three booster stations along the Lake
Kickapoo line are antiquated and have begun causing operational problems;
WHEREAS, Council approved the replacement of the motor control centers
along with certain ancillary work in the 1997/98 Budget for the Water and Sewer Fund;
WHEREAS, it now is time to proceed with the necessary engineering design to
undertake the construction of the project; and,
WHEREAS, staff has recommended the City enter a contract with the
engineering firm of EMD, Inc. to perform the necessary engineering services related to
this project.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT:
The proposed contract with EMD, Inc. for the stated purposes is hereby
approved with a base engineering fee of $17,250. The City Manager is authorized to
execute the contract for the City of Wichita Falls.
