RESOLUTION ENDORSING THE EXPANSION IN OPERATING HOURS
FOR THE WICHITA FALLS TRANSIT SYSTEM BROWN ROUTE
WHEREAS, the current transit system service schedules provide for operations
of the brown route between the hours of 5:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., Monday through
Friday and 10:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on Saturday; and
WHEREAS, citizens have requested full day service comparable to the other
transit routes in the system; and
WHEREAS, the estimated incremental annual operating cost is $32,436 which
reduces to $18,920 for the remainder of the fiscal year; and
WHEREAS, federal and state operating subsidies would provide 75% of the
revenue needed, or $14,190, leaving a balance due from the General Fund subsidy of
$4,730.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT:
The City Council endorses the expansion in operating hours for the Wichita Falls
Transit System Brown Route.
