RESOLUTION TO APPOINT MR. ROY RESSEL, ENVIRONMENTAL
HEALTH COORDINATOR OF THE WICHITA FALLS - WICHITA COUNTY
PUBLIC HEALTH DISTRICT, AS THE LOCAL RABIES CONTROL
OFFICER FOR THE CITY OF WICHITA FALLS.
WHEREAS, the Rabies Control Act (Chapter 826, as amended May 5, 1995) was
established as a minimum statewide program to control and eradicate rabies in the State
of Texas, to be administered by the Texas Board of Health with cooperation of the
governing bodies of the counties and incorporated municipalities within the State; and
WHEREAS, the Act requires that the governing bodies of the counties and
incorporated municipalities appoint a Local Rabies Control Authority to assume the
responsibilities of administering the Act; and
WHEREAS, the Wichita County Commissioners Court appointed Mr. Ressel as
Local Rabies Control Authority for the County of Wichita, Texas; and
WHEREAS, the City staff deem it appropriate that Mr. Ressel be appointed as
Local Rabies Control Authority for the City of Wichita Falls.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT:
Mr. Roy Ressel, R. S., Environmental Health Coordinator, is hereby appointed as
Local Rabies Control Authority for the City of Wichita Falls, Texas.
