RESOLUTION TO APPROVE CONTRACT WITH ENGINEERING FIRM
OF CORLETT, PROBST & BOYD, INC. FOR THE LAKE ARROWHEAD
RAW WATER PUMP STATION MODIFICATION AND PIPELINE
REPLACEMENT PROJECT
WHEREAS, the City of Wichita Falls entered a contract with the engineering
firm of Corlett, Probst & Boyd, Inc. to perform an engineering study on the raw water
transmission system bringing water from Lake Arrowhead to the City treatment system;
WHEREAS, the study documents a detailed analysis of reliability problems
experienced by the City over the past decade and recommends modification, repair and
replacement of various components of the Lake Arrowhead pump station and pipeline;
WHEREAS, the City desires to proceed with such modifications, repairs and
replacement in order to assure reliability of the vital water supply to our citizens and to
our neighbors in surrounding communities; and,
WHEREAS, the staff has proposed an engineering contract with Corlett, Probst
& Boyd, Inc. to prepare the necessary engineering plans and specifications to perform
the construction work.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT:
The contract with Corlett, Probst & Boyd, Inc. for engineering services related to
the Lake Arrowhead raw water pump station modification and pipeline replacement
Project is hereby approved with a maximum payment of $335,370.00 for the base
engineering fees. The City Manager is authorized to execute the contract for the City.
PASSED AND APPROVED this the 17th day of March, 1998.
