RESOLUTION TO APPROVE AGREEMENT WITH TEXAS
DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION TO CONTRIBUTE FUNDS FOR
THE RELOCATION OF UTILITIES FOR THE OVERHEAD
EXPRESSWAY PROJECT
WHEREAS, the City of Wichita Falls is participating with the Texas Department
of Transportation for the construction of an overhead expressway;
WHEREAS, a number of utility relocations must be made to facilitate
construction of the expressway;
WHEREAS, some relocations will be fully funded by the Federal Government
while others will be partially funded by the State of Texas;
WHEREAS, those relocations with partial State funding require a 10%
contribution by the City of Wichita Falls for the construction cost;
WHEREAS, TXDOT is requesting the City place an estimated amount of the
10% contribution into escrow, said amount to be adjusted based on the construction
cost when the project is complete; and,
WHEREAS, TXDOT has asked the City to enter into an agreement for the
contribution of funds for the stated purpose.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT:
The Council has examined the proposed agreement to contribute funds, and the
agreement is hereby approved with authority for the City Manager to make an initial
escrow payment of $1,690.
