(0a -}c RESOLUTION CANVASSING THE RETURNS OF THE MUNICIPAL GENERAL ELECTION HELD IN THE CITY OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS ON MAY 2, 1998, FOR MAYOR, COUNCILOR FOR DISTRICT 3, COUNCILOR FOR DISTRICT 4, AND COUNCILOR FOR DISTRICT 5 WHEREAS, at a regular meeting of the City Council of the City of Wichita Falls, held in the Memorial Auditorium Building on the 5 day of May, 1998, there came on to be considered the returns of the General Election held on the 2 "d day of May, 1998; and, SECTION 1. WHEREAS, after canvassing the returns of said election, it was found to be duly and legally held in all respects, and that 6763, voters voted in said election, and that votes were cast as follows: FOR MAYOR: Annie Kendrick T. L. Cline Jimmy Wynn Kay Yeager Claude E. Greer FOR COUNCILOR, DISTRICT 3: George Witherspoon Bill Altman Randle Forcher Becky Sternadel received 421 votes. received 434 votes. received 884 votes. received 4 , 7 54 votes. received 165 votes. received 126 votes. received 1,192 votes. received 674 votes. received 127 votes. FOR COUNCILOR, DISTRICT 4: David E. Dunn Johnny Burns COUNCILOR DISTRICT 5: John D. Ward received 486 votes. received. 917 votes. received 237 votes. Loyd Alexander received 123 votes. Thomas E. "Tom" Cross received 209 votes. Andrew "Bud" Beaty received 330 votes. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT: SECTION 2. Said election was in all respects legally held in accordance with the laws of the State of Texas and the Charter and ordinances of the City of Wichita Falls; that Kay Yeager was duly and legally elected Mayor; Bill Altman was duly and legally elected Councilor District 3; Johnny Burns was duly and legally elected Councilor District 4, and Andrew "Rud" Beaty was duly and legally elected Councilor District 5. SECTION 3. It is hereby officially found and determined that the meeting at which this resolution was passed was open to the public as required by law. PASSED AND APPROVED this 5'" day of May, 1998.
