RESOLUTION TO RESCIND RESOLUTION NO. 44 -98 AND AWARD BID
AND CONTRACT FOR HAMILTON PARK TENNIS COURTS #9 AND #10
RECONSTRUCTION PROJECT
WHEREAS, the City of Wichita Falls has advertised for bids for the construction
of the Hamilton Park Tennis Courts #9 and #10 Reconstruction Project; and,
WHEREAS, it was found that the lowest bidder was awarded the contract on
April 7, 1998, Resolution No. 44 -98; and,
WHEREAS, it was found that the apparent lowest bidder was not able to fulfill his
proposal obligations by not providing the required bonds; and,
WHEREAS, Resolution No. 44 -98 is rescinded; and,
WHEREAS, it is found that the lowest responsible bidder is Duke Construction
Company who made a lump sum bid with a total of $57,990.00.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT:
Said lump sum bid of Grisham Brothers Concrete for $51,966.00 is hereby
rejected, and said lump sum bid by Duke Construction for $57,990.00 is hereby
accepted, and the City Manager is authorized to execute a contract for the City with
said Contractor for the construction of such project.
PASSED AND APPROVED this the 19th day of May, 1998.
