A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO APPLY FOR
A WEED & SEED GRANT.
WHEREAS, the City of Wichita Falls Police Department has seen the need for
implementing a Bike Patrol; and
WHEREAS, the Police Department will use the Bike Patrol in an overall effort to
reduce crime, from a Community Policing approach, by making the police officers more
accessible to the citizens of Wichita Falls; and
WHEREAS, funds are available from the Weed & Seed Program for such a
project;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT:
The City Manager is authorized to apply for a Weed & Seed Grant so that a Bike
Patrol program can be established in the police department.
