• RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO APPLY FOR
• COPS MORE '98 GRANT
WHEREAS, the City of Wichita Falls Police Department has seen the need to
implement a Community Policing approach of law enforcement to the citizens of Wichita
Falls; and,
WHEREAS, the application of technology has been proven to save man hours
and the Federal Government has made funds available in the COPS MORE '98 Grants
for the purchase of technology if the man hours saved are redeployed into Community
Policing; and,
WHEREAS, the Wichita Falls Police Department would like to apply for such a
grant in the amount of One hundred forty two thousand one hundred and thirty nine
($142,139) dollars of which one hundred six thousand six hundred and four ($106,604)
dollars will be Federal monies and thirty five thousand five hundred and thirty four
($35,534) dollars or 25% will be cash match;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT:
The City Manager is authorized to apply for a COPS MORE '98 Grant for the
Wichita Falls Police Department.
