RESOLUTION SUBMITTING A REQUEST FOR $400,000 TO THE 4B
SALES TAX BOARD FOR IMPROVEMENTS TO THE SECOND FLOOR
OF THE LIBRARY.; DETERMINING THAT THE MEETING AT WHICH
THIS RESOLUTION WAS PASSED WAS OPEN TO THE PUBLIC AS
REQUIRED BY LAW.
WHEREAS, recreation programs have taken place in the second floor of the
Activities Building for several years; and
WHEREAS, construction of the new Library has impacted the provision of
recreational opportunities by limiting activities that produce sounds that interfere with
citizens' full enjoyment of Library; and
WHEREAS, the second floor architecture is in violation of a number of current
safety building codes.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT:
SECTION 1. The City of Wichita Falls shall request $400,000 from the 4B Sales
Tax Board for improvements to the second floor of the Library.
SECTION 2. It is hereby officially found and determined that the meeting at
which this resolution was passed was open to the public as required by law
PASSED AND APPROVED this the 6th day of October, 1998.
