RESOLUTION APPROVING THE TRANSFER OF THE CITY'S AIRPORT
AND AIRWAYS IMPROVEMENT ACT OF 1982 ENTITLEMENT FUNDS,
IN THE AMOUNT OF $383,697 TO THE STATE OF TEXAS, TXDOT,
DEPARTMENT OF AVIATION; $300,000 TO BE USED FOR A STATE
SPONSORED STUDY AND $83,697 TO BE USED FOR PAPI
PROJECTS AT GRAHAM AND DECATUR; DETERMINING THAT THE
MEETING AT WHICH THIS RESOLUTION WAS PASSED WAS OPEN
TO THE PUBLIC AS REQUIRED BY LAW.
and WHEREAS, the City of Wichita Falls, Texas has surplus AIP entitlement funds;
WHEREAS, as of October 1, 1998, these funds will be lost to the City of Wichita
Falls, as well as the State of Texas; and
WHEREAS, the City Council desires a recipient of these funds.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT:
SECTION 1. In accordance with Section 508 (b) (2) of the Airport Improvement
Act of 1982, the City of Wichita Falls waives apportioned to it under Section 507 of said
Act: $383,697 from fiscal year 1996. This waiver is made on the condition that the
Federal Aviation Administration makes such amounts, $300,000 to TXDOT Aviation
Department for a State wide aviation needs study and $83,697 available to the TXDOT
Aviation Division for PAPI projects at Graham and Decatur airports.
SECTION 2. It is hereby officially found and determined that the meeting at
which this resolution was passed was open to the public as required by law
