AWARD OF BIDS FOR THE DEMOLITION OF VARIOUS HAZARDOUS
AND SUBSTANDARD STRUCTURES IN THE AMOUNT OF $19,641.00;
DETERMINING THAT THE MEETING AT WHICH THIS RESOLUTION
WAS PASSED WAS OPEN TO THE PUBLIC AS REQUIRED BY LAW.
WHEREAS, bids have been prepared, and proposals have been issued for the
demolition of various substandard, hazardous structures; and
WHEREAS, the proposal of John Hancock Company meets all of the City's
requirements at the lowest demolition price on eleven (11) properties; and
WHEREAS, the proposal of A. V. Mote Demolition Company meets all of the
City's requirements at the lowest demolition price on four (4) properties; and
WHEREAS, John Hancock Company and A. V. Mote Demolition provide
sufficient and capable demolition and clearing services to adequately support the
requirements as specified in the provisions of essential local demolition services; and
WHEREAS, the proposals of John Hancock Company and A. V. Mote Demolition
Company, for the demolition of various substandard structures, are hereby accepted
and the City Manager is authorized to negotiate and execute purchase contracts with
John Hancock in the amount of $13,818.00 and with A. V. Mote in the amount of
$5,823.00.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT:
SECTION 1. The structures listed herein have been ordered demolished, per
Ordinance Number 59 -98, and the City Council deems it advisable and in the public
interest to approve this resolution for the award of the bids to the described contractors.
SECTION 2. It is hereby officially found and determined that the meeting at
which this resolution was passed was open to the public as required by law.
