RESOLUTION REQUESTING ROUTE FALLS; DETERMINING THAT THE
US 277 IN THE CITY OF WICHITA
MEETING AT WHICH THIS RESOLUTION WAS PASSED WAS OPEN
TO THE PUBLIC AS REQUIRED BY LAW.
WHEREAS, US 277 is included on the Priority Corridor System and concurrent
routing with US 82 through Wichita Falls would best address transportation needs and
provide a more direct route; and
WHEREAS, US 82 (Kell Blvd.) in Wichita Falls can support a concurrent
designation with US 277; and
WHEREAS, Business Route US 277, from IH 44 to US 82, would continue to
carry the same responsibilities as its former designations..
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT:
SECTION 1. US 277 be assigned to carry a concurrent designation with US 82
(Kell Blvd.) in Wichita Falls from the intersection with US 287 southwest out of the City.
The present US 277, from IH 44 to US 82, will be re- designated as Business US 277.
SECTION 2. It is hereby officially found and determined that the meeting at
which this resolution was passed was open to the public as required by law
PASSED AND APPROVED this the 18th day of August, 1998.
