RESOLUTION TO REJECT BIDS FOR ANNUAL SUPPLY OF
WATER METER BOXES AND ADDITIONAL LIDS.
WHEREAS, the City of Wichita Falls has advertised for bids for large and small
meter boxes with lids and for additional lids for each size meter box;
WHEREAS, Council believes the format of the bid proposal form created some
confusion among the bidders, causing the two low bids to be rejected for administrative
errors;
WHEREAS, the next lowest bid was rejected because the bid was conditioned
with additional requirements and charges not allowed by the specifications; and,
WHEREAS, Council believes it is most equitable to the citizens of Wichita Falls
and to the vendors bidding on the product for all bids to be rejected, for the bid proposal
form to be reformatted to remove the potential for confusion, and for the product to be
bid again.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT:
The bids for the annual supply of water meter boxes and lids are hereby rejected
for the reasons stated. The City Manager is instructed to reformat the bid proposal form
and to bid the required product a second time.
