RESOLUTION APPROVING PPL CAT ON AUTHORIZING
TO SUBMIT A GRANT A THE FEDERAL AVIATION
ADMINISTRATION FOR THE PURPOSE OF CONDUCTING A
FEASIBILITY STUDY OF KICKAP00 AIR PARK; DETERMINING THAT
THE MEETING AT WHICH THIS RESOLUTION WAS PASSED WAS
OPEN TO THE PUBLIC AS REQUIRED BY LAW.
WHEREAS, the City of Wichita Falls is requesting financial assistance from the
FAA in the form of a planning grant; and
WHEREAS, the grant funds will be used to conduct a feasibility study of the
Kickapoo Air Park to complete an environmental assessment, property app
financial outlook, and a cost analysis to determine the cost effectiveness of buying
Kickapoo versus building a new airport; and
WHEREAS, the purchase of Kickapoo Air Park could be of benefit to the City of
Wichita Falls by ensuring a general aviation facility for continued public use.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT:
SECTION 1. The City Manager is hereby authorized to submit a grant
application to the Federal Aviation Administration.
SECTION 2. It is hereby officially found and determined that the meeting at
which this resolution passed was open to the public as required by law.
