RESOLUTION WAIVING THE CITY OF WICHITA FALLS' ELIGIBILITY
TO APPLY FOR 1998 JUVENILE ACCOUNTABILITY INCENTIVE
BLOCK GRANT FUNDS AND REQUESTING THAT WICHITA COUNTY
RECEIVE THE WAIVED FUNDS; DETERMINING THAT THE MEETING
AT WHICH THIS RESOLUTION WAS PASSED WAS OPEN TO THE
PUBLIC AS REQUIRED BY LAW.
WHEREAS, the City of Wichita Falls received notice of its qualification to receive
$61,697 in federal funds from the Juvenile Accountability Incentive Block Grant; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Wichita Falls desires that these funds
be used to locally; and
WHEREAS, the Commissioners Court of Wichita County proposes to submit an
application in the amount of $158,728 to expand its juvenile correction facility
contingent upon the City waiving its right to apply and requesting the state to assign its
share to the County.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT:
SECTION 1. The City of Wichita Falls hereby waives its right to apply for the
1998 Juvenile Accountability Incentive Block Grant funds.
SECTION 2. The City of Wichita Falls requests that Wichita County receive the
funds waived by the City.
SECTION 3. The City of Wichita Falls agrees to participate in the Juvenile Crime
Enforcement Coalition. Representatives to the Coalition shall include the Mayor, City
Manager and Chief of Police.
SECTION 4. It is hereby officially found and determined that the meeting at
which this resolution was passed was open to the public as required by law
