RESOLUTION ACCEPTING BID ON CITY PROPERTY AT 2005
BUCHANAN AND AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE
THE DEED; DETERMINING THAT THE MEETING AT WHICH THIS
RESOLUTION WAS PASSED WAS OPEN TO THE PUBLIC AS
REQUIRED BY LAW.
WHEREAS, the City of Wichita Falls purchased the house at 2005 Buchanan
Street for the Urban Homestead Program; and
WHEREAS, the Floral Heights Assembly of God Church has expressed interest
in acquiring the property as they have already purchased all except three houses in
Block 105 of Floral Heights Addition; and
WHEREAS, the property at 2005 Buchanan has now been advertised for sale by
sealed bids in accordance with Chapter 272 of the Texas Local Government Code.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT:
SECTION 1. The following parcel of real property owned by the City of Wichita
Falls is declared as excess and has been advertised for sale to the general public by
sealed bids:
2005 Buchanan Street, Wichita Falls
Lot 14, Block 105, Floral Heights Addition
SECTION 2. The only bid received for the above described property was from
the Floral Heights Assembly of God Church, Inc., 2014 Kemp Blvd., Wichita Falls in the
amount of $18,500.00 cash, which was the minimum bid set by the City.
SECTION 3. The bid on the property is hereby accepted, and the City Manager
is hereby authorized to execute the special warranty deed to convey title.
SECTION 4. It is hereby officially found and determined that the meeting at
which this resolution was passed was open to the public as required by law.
