RESOLUTION CERTIFYING THE CITY OF WICHITA FALLS' INTENT TO
COMMIT THE NECESSARY FUNDING TO SECURE THE 2001
ASSOCIATION OF MAYORS, COUNCILMEMBERS AND
COMMISSIONERS ANNUAL INSTITUTE; DETERMINING THAT THE
MEETING AT WHICH THIS RESOLUTION WAS PASSED WAS OPEN
TO THE PUBLIC AS REQUIRED BY LAW.
WHEREAS, the Association of Mayors, Councilmembers and Commissioners
has requested proposals from Texas cities for the award of host city designation for the
2001 annual institute; and
WHEREAS, this institute would have a substantial impact on the economy of
Wichita Falls by attracting approximately 800 -1,200 participants to the city; and
WHEREAS, the selected host city must commit to funding approximately
$17,000 for the institute; and
WHEREAS, Hotel /Motel funds are eligible for this type of activity.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT:
SECTION 1. The City of Wichita Falls does hereby commit to fund the $17,000
to secure the 2001 Association of Mayors, Councilmembers and Commissioners
Annual Institute.
SECTION 2. It is hereby officially found and determined that the meeting at
which this resolution was passed was open to the public as required by law.
