RESOLUTION GRANTING PERMISSION TO THE UNIVERSITY
KIWANIS CLUB TO ATTACH A PLAQUE TO THE KIWANIS PARK
CONCESSION BUILDING IN MEMORY OF BOB SCHWARTZ;
DETERMINING THAT THE MEETING AT WHICH THIS RESOLUTION
WAS PASSED WAS OPEN TO THE PUBLIC AS REQUIRED BY LAW.
WHEREAS, the Board of Directors of the University Kiwanis Club of Wichita Falls
has whole- heartedly approved the Club's desire to pay tribute to one of their long -time
members, the late Bob Schwartz; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Schwartz's years of service to the Club and his four year
leadership as Concession Chairman were largely responsible for the success of this
undertaking, enabling the Club to consistently return to the City of Wichita Falls
considerable concession profits for facility improvements in the park; and
WHEREAS, the Club desires to have a suitable plaque designed for this purpose
and to have it permanently placed on the wall on the concession stand at Kiwanis Park
on Southwest Parkway; and
WHEREAS, the Wichita Falls Park Board has approved this request at their
regular meeting held on March 25, 1999.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT:
SECTION 1. The University Kiwanis Club of Wichita Falls, Texas is hereby
authorized to place a plaque on the wall of the concession stand in Kiwanis Park as a
fitting tribute to the dedication of Mr. Bob Schwartz.
SECTION 2. It is hereby officially found and determined that the meeting at
which this resolution was passed was open to the public as required by law.
