RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE SALE OF A PORTION OF THE
ABANDONED RAILROAD RIGHT -OF -WAY IN THE 1600 BLOCK OF
FAIRFAX AVENUE TO AN ADJACENT PROPERTY OWNER AND
AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO EXECUTE THE QUIT CLAIM DEED;
DETERMINING THAT THE MEETING AT WHICH THIS RESOLUTION
WAS PASSED WAS OPEN TO THE PUBLIC AS REQUIRED BY LAW.
WHEREAS, the City of Wichita Falls is the owner of the abandoned railroad spur
in the 1600 block of Fairfax Avenue; and
WHEREAS, said property is not being used by the City, and there are no plans
for future usage; and
WHEREAS, in accordance with Chapter 272 of the Local Government Code, the
City may sell this property to an adjacent owner for the fair market value.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT:
SECTION 1. The Mayor of the City of Wichita Falls be and is hereby authorized
to execute a quit claim deed on behalf of the City of Wichita Falls to Jose I. Moreno for
the consideration of $7,458.00 for the following described property:
Tract A: A 0.17 acre tract, more or less, out of Block 20A, McKenzie Knight
Subdivision.
Tract B: A 0.11 acre tract, more of less, out of Block 21A, McKenzie Knight
Subdivision.
Tract C: A 0.13 acre tract, more or less, out of Blocko 36, McKenzie Knight
Subdivision.
SECTION 2. It is hereby officially found and determined that the meeting at
which this resolution was passed was open to the public as required by law.
