RESOLUTION AWARDING A CONTRACT TO WILBUR SMITH
ASSOCIATES FOR A SOCIOECONOMIC DATA COLLECTION AND
FORECAST STUDY; AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO
EXECUTE THE REQUIRED CONTRACT; DETERMINING THAT THE
MEETING AT WHICH THIS RESOLUTION WAS PASSED WAS OPEN
TO THE PUBLIC AS REQUIRED BY LAW.
WHEREAS, the City Council has determined that a well- planned transportation
system in the City will have long -term effects on the quality, function and longevity of
development in the City; and
WHEREAS, the City Council desires that efforts be made to provide for decision -
making tools to be used in the evaluation of the transportation system; and
WHEREAS, the execution of a contract to provide a model of the City's
transportation system best serves the short-term and long -range public purpose.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT:
SECTION 1. The City Manager is authorized to execute a contract with Wilbur
Smith Associates to conduct the necessary socioeconomic data collection and forecast
study for data needs described under that contract.
SECTION 2. It is hereby officially found and determined that the meeting at
which this resolution was passed was open to the public as required by law.
