RESOLUTION TO APPROVE JOINT FUNDING AGREEMENT WITH US
GEOLOGICAL SURVEY FOR OPERATION AND MAINTENANCE OF
STREAM FLOW AND RESERVOIR CONTENT GAUGING STATIONS;
DETERMINING THAT THE MEETING AT WHICH THIS RESOLUTION
WAS PASSED WAS OPEN TO THE PUBLIC AS REQUIRED BY LAW.
WHEREAS, the US Geological Survey operates and maintains a series of
stream flow and reservoir - content gauging stations on the Little Wichita River Water
Shed-,and
WHEREAS, the data from these stations are extremely important to the City of
Wichita Falls for the monitoring of water flows into current reservoirs and for the
planning of future reservoirs; and
WHEREAS, the City has historically shared with USGS in the cost of operating
and maintaining four of these stations;
WHEREAS, the maintenance of three of the stations is a requirement of the
water -use permits from the State of Texas.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT:
SECTION 1. The said Joint- Funding Agreement is hereby approved with the
City's share of the cost to be $15,870.00. The City Manager is authorized to execute
the agreement for the City.
SECTION 2. It is hereby officially found and determined that the meeting at
which this resolution was passed was open to the public as required by law.
