Resolution authorizing the City Manager to amend the City of Wichita
Falls’ application with the Federal Aviation Administration for a
continuation of a Passenger Facility Charge at Wichita Falls
Municipal Airport in the Amount of $4.50
WHEREAS, the City of Wichita Falls operates, maintains and develops Wichita
Falls Municipal Airport with federal grants, user fees, and other local revenues;
WHEREAS, a Passenger Facility Charge (PFC) is a user fee authorized by
Federal Law and imposed only on eligible enplaned passengers using commercial
service airports;
WHEREAS, the City of Wichita Falls authorized the use of PFC charges in 2008
to fund capital projects;
WHEREAS, the continuation of a Passenger Facility Charge in the amount of
$4.50 is necessary to accomplish capital projects designed to enhance capacity, safety,
and development of Airports; and
WHEREAS, the City of Wichita Falls desires to collect PFC revenue as related to
the Wichita Falls Municipal Airport Terminal Area Project.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT:
The City Manager is hereby authorized to file a new application to amend, as
necessary, any previous Passenger Facility Charge applications by the City of Wichita
Falls, in a form to be approved by the City Attorney, with the Federal Aviation
Administration, for Terminal Area Project construction at Wichita Falls Municipal Airport.
