AN ORDINANCE CLOSING, VACATING, AND ABANDONING A
PORTION OF A FIFTEEN FOOT WIDE ALLEY IN BLOCK 2,
SCURRY SUBDIVISION, WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, AND RE-
TAINING A UTILITY EASEMENT
WHEREAS, the Planning & Zoning Commission has recommended
the closure of a fifteen ( 15 ) foot wide east-west alley, lying
north of the north lot line of Lot 26 , Block 2 , Scurry Subdivi-
sion, Wichita Falls, Texas, and retaining a utility easement;
and,
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Wichita Falls ,
Texas, deems it advisable and in the public interest to close
the portion of the alley hereafter described.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT:
SECTION 1. The portion of a fifteen ( 15) foot wide east-
west alley abutting and lying north of the north lot line of Lot
26, Block 2, Scurry Subdivision, Wichita Falls, Texas having for
its east boundary, the west right-of-way line of Scurry Street,
and extending westerly approximately one hundred and forty-two
and a half ( 142 . 5 ) feet to the east right-of-way line extended,
of the existing fifteen foot wide alley, be and the same is
hereby closed, vacated, and abandoned.
SECTION 2 . The City of Wichita Falls hereby reserves the
entire area described in Section 1 , as a utility easement for
the purpose of laying and maintaining all kind and character of
utility lines including water, gas, electric, telephone, tele-
vision cable, power lines, and sanitary and storm sew-r.
