AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE ZONING ORDINANCE TO ALLOW
COMMUNITY RESIDENTIAL CENTERS FOR PRE-PAROLEE INMATES
AS A CONDITIONAL USE IN GENERAL COMMERCIAL, HEAVY
COMMERCIAL, AND CENTRAL BUSINESS DISTRICT ZONES, AND
PROVIDING FOR A DEFINITION
WHEREAS, the Planning & Zoning Commission has recommended
that community residential centers be allowed as a conditional
use in a general commercial zone and as a permitted use in heavy
commercial and central business district zones, and provided for
a definition; and,
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Wichita Falls,
Texas deems that the amendment herein adopted is in accordance
with the Comprehensive Land Use Plan and in the public interest.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT:
SECTION 1. Section 2030 of Ordinance 38-85,as amended,
Zoning Ordinance of the City of Wichita Falls, Texas is hereby
amended to add the following definition in alphabetical order:
"Community Residential Center
A publicly or privately operated use providing housing
and care for individuals legally confined. "
SECTION 2. Sections 3480 and 3540 of Ordinance 38-85, as
amended, Zoning Ordinance of the City of Wichita Falls, Texas are
hereby amended to add the following use in alphabetical order:
"Community Residential Center" .
SECTION 3 . Section 3000 of Ordinance 38-85, as amended,
Zoning Ordinance of the City of Wichita Falls, Texas is hereby
amended to add the following subsection in numerical order:
"3805 CONDITIONAL USES
The following uses are permitted in the Centra Business
District subject to the approval process in Section 72.0.
