RESOLUTION NO. 40-2014
Resolution authorizing the purchase of an LED Video Display
Scoreboard and Hoist System (including installation) through the
Buyboard Purchasing Cooperative from Daktronics, Inc. in the
amount of $820,357.33.
WHEREAS, the City Council finds that this purchase is exempt from competitive
bidding requirements pursuant to Texas Local Gov’t Code § 271.102(c), which provides:
(c) A local government that purchases goods or services under this subchapter
satisfies any state law requiring the local government to seek competitive bids for
the purchase of the goods or services.
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Wichita Falls has passed a resolution
approving the participation in the BuyBoard cooperative purchasing contract; and
WHEREAS, the City Council finds that Daktronics, Inc. is offering a new LED
Video Display Scoreboard and Hoist System (including installation) through the
BuyBoard Purchasing Cooperative, and it is in the City’s best interest to purchase a new
LED Video Display Scoreboard and Hoist System (including installation) in accordance
with the BuyBoard Purchasing Cooperative Program.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT:
City Staff is authorized to execute all documents necessary to purchase an LED
Video Display Scoreboard and Hoist System (including installation) through the Buy
Board Local Government Purchasing Cooperative from Daktronics, Inc., in the amount
of $820,357.33, in accordance with the attached Drawing and Quote 508823-1 REV
01.
PASSED AND APPROVED this the 1st day of April, 2014.
