ORDINANCE NO. 13-2014
Ordinance appropriating $399,293 from the Texas Department of
Transportation in Federal Transit Agency Funds for FY 2014 Section
5339 Bus and Bus Facilities Formula Grants and authorizing the City
Manager to execute all necessary funding agreements related hereto
WHEREAS, the City of Wichita Falls received notification from the Texas
Department of Transportation that $399,293 is available from Section 5339 Bus and
Bus Facilities Formula Grants for capital purchase of a 35-foot, low-floor bus;
WHEREAS, it is desirable to budget these grant funds for the operation of the
Wichita Falls Transit System; and
WHEREAS, the City of Wichita Falls anticipates applying to Texas Department of
Transportation for Transportation Development Credits to offset local matches on
capital purchases with these Section 5339 funds.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT:
The sum of $399,293 in Texas Department of Transportation Federal Transit
Agency Funds is appropriated for capital purchase of equipment and operation of the
Wichita Falls Transit System, and the City Manager is authorized to execute all
documents necessary to accept FY 2014 Federal Transit Administration Section 5339
funding, in a form to be approved by the City Attorney.
