Ordinance declaring unopposed candidates as elected to the Mayor,
Councilor District 3, Councilor District 4, and Councilor District 5
positions, declaring the General Election cancelled in accordance
with Chapter 2 of the Texas Election Code, and ratifying the City’s
withdrawal from its Joint Election Agreement with the Wichita Falls
Independent School District and City View Independent School
District
WHEREAS, the City Clerk has filed with the City Council a Certification of
Unopposed Candidates in the Mayor, Councilor District 3, Councilor District 4, and
Councilor District 5 positions;
WHEREAS, the City Clerk has certified that there are no write-in candidates for
those offices under applicable law and that there are no propositions to appear on the
ballot; and
WHEREAS, Chapter 2 of the Texas Election Code provides for the cancellation
of elections under certain conditions.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT:
1. Glenn Barham is declared elected to the Office of Mayor for a two-year term,
Brian Hooker is declared elected to the Office of Councilor District 3 for a two-year term,
Tim Ingle is declared elected to the Office of Councilor District 4 for a two-year term,
and Tom Quintero is declared elected to the Office of Councilor District 5 for a two-year
term.
2. Under this declaration, the General Election is canceled.
3. The City’s withdrawal of March 3, 2014 from its Joint Election Agreement with
the Wichita Falls Independent School District and City View Independent School District
is ratified, effective on March 3, 2014.

The City Council of the City of Wichita Falls, Texas hereby cancels the Mayor,
Councilor District 3, Councilor District 4, and Councilor District 5 elections scheduled to
be held on May 10, 2014 in accordance with Chapter 2 of the Texas Election Code.
The following candidates have been certified as unopposed and are hereby elected as
follows:
