ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING TEMPORARY SALE OF BEER AND
WAIVING SECTION 22-4 OF THE CODE OF ORDINANCES
TO PERMIT BEER TO BE POSSESSED AND CONSUMED IN
JAYCEE PARK ON OCTOBER 1 , 1988.
WHEREAS, the Wichita County Deputy Sheriff ' s Association
will host a concert on October 1 , 1988 in Jaycee Park ; and
WHEREAS, they desire to sell beer at said concert and
that Section 22-4 of the Code of Ordinances be waived to
allow possession and consumption of beer there; and ,
WHEREAS, they have committed to provide adequate
uniformed security during the concert ; and
WHEREAS, the City Council finds that the circumstances
involved in this request are exceptional , and the sale of
beer should be authorized , and Section 22-4 of the Code,
which prohibits possession and consumption of alcoholic
beverages in parks, should be waived .
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS THAT:
The temporary sale of beer is hereby authorized from l2:00
o ' clock noon to 8:00 o ' clock p .m. on October 1 , 1988, and
Section 22-4 of the Code of Ordinances is hereby waived
to permit the possession and consumption of beer , at
the concert on October 1 , 1988 in Jaycee Park hosted by the
Wichita County Deputy Sheriff ' s Association.
