ORDINANCE MAKING AN APPROPRIATION IN THE GENERAL FUND
FROM REVENUE RECEIVED FROM THE OFFICE OF THE
GOVERNOR, CRIMINAL JUSTICE DIVISION FOR PURPOSES
OF CONTINUING THE NEIGHBORHOOD WATCH PATROL PROGRAM
Whereas , on September 19 , 1988 , the Office of the
Governor , Criminal Justice Division approved a grant award
in the amount of $12 , 004 to continue the Neighborhood Watch
Patrol program; and
Whereas , the primary objective of the program is to
reduce the residential burglary rate by substantially
increasing neighborhood patrols and property checks ; and
Whereas , eleven twelfths ( 11/12) of the grant period is
in fiscal year 1988-89 ; and
Whereas , the City's matching contribution is included
in the Police Department 's Fiscal Year 1988-89 budget ; and
Whereas , the amount of the grant award was not known
prior to adoption of the Fiscal Year 1988-89 budget .
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT:
$11 , 004 is hereby appropriated in account number 11-
814-4114 from revenue received from the Office of the
Governor , Criminal Justice Division for the purpose of
continuing the Neighborhood Watch Patrol Program.
