I ORDINANCE NO. }/—o/ ORDINANCE WAIVING CHAPTER EIGHT, ARTICLE II, SECTION 8-22 OF THE CODE OF ORDINANCES, REQUIRING ITINERANT MERCHANT' S FEE OF $15.00 FOR EACH LOCATION, FOR THE ANNUAL CAMP FIRE COUNCIL OF NORTH TEXAS CANDY AND NUTS SALE, AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. WHEREAS, the Camp Fire Council of North Texas has plans to begin immediately its annual sale of candy and nuts by its young members; and, WHEREAS, the revenue derived from this sale is used for the purposes of providing educational and wholesome recreational benefits for the young members of the organization, and will instill in them characteristics of good citizenship which will make them better members of our community, state and nation; and, WHEREAS, Section 8-22 of the Code of Ordinances, as amended by Ordinance No. 136-88, provides that each applicant for a permit shall be charged a fee of $15.00, and itinerant merchants having more than one location shall be charged a fee of $15.00 for each location, and the Camp Fire Council has requested a waiver of the requirement that they pay a fee of $15.00 for each additional location, as it would materially reduce the amount of their revenue available for its services to children and youth; and, WHEREAS, the circumstances involved in this request are exceptional, and such waiver should be granted. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT: The provisions of Section 8-22 of the Code of Ordinances, which provides that itinerant merchants having more than one location shall be charged a fee of $15. 00 for each location, is hereby waived for the 1989 annual Camp Fire Council of North Texas candy and nuts sale.
